Scientific Peer-Reviewed Journal – SocioEconomic Challenges (SEC) was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine (Certificate No. KB 22380 – 12280Р from October 31, 2016). In 2022, an agreement was concluded between Sumy State University, Ukraine and Academic Research and Publishing UG (i. G.), Germany, according to which the publisher is Academic Research and Publishing UG (i. G.), and the co-founders are Sumy State University and Academic Research and Publishing UG (i. G.). The journal is published 4 times a year (March, June, September, December) in English since 2017.

Since 2017 the SEC journal is open-access. All readers have access to articles immediately upon publication.
