Управління людськими ресурсами (HRM) відіграє роль каталізатора позитивних змін у роботі готелю. Вплив пандемії Covid-19 на діяльність туристичного сектору має безпрецедентний характер. Дана галузь була не готова до такої важкої кризи здоров’я населення. Підтримання безперебійної роботи готелів під час кризи передбачає застосування нових підходів до фінансового планування, надання ними нових або модифікацію вже існуючих видів послуг відповідно до протоколів Міністерств охорони здоров’я. У такій ситуації важливу роль відіграє якість навчання персоналу. Метою цієї статті є дослідження впливу лідерства на мотивацію працівників готелю у період пандемії COVID-19. У роботі досліджується важливість лідерства у формуванні спільного бачення векторів розвитку готелю та їх сприйняття співробітниками. Крім того, у статті досліджується методи прямого чи опосередкованого впливу керівництва на співробітників готелю у процесі реалізації даного бачення за одночасного виділення необхідних для цього людських рис. На другому етапі дослідження проведено аналіз індивідуальних практик керівництва щодо мотивування працівників до підвищення продуктивності своєї праці, а отже – покращення якості наданих послуги. Об’єктом дослідження є 150 керівників усіх чотири- та п’ятизіркових готелів грецьких островів Родос та Кос. Методичним інструментарієм дослідження є метод анкетування. Результати проведеного протягом лютого-березня 2021 року анкетування засвідчили зв’язок нових умов праці, з якими стикаються керівники та менеджери, з індивідуальними страхами та бар’єрами співробітників щодо їх особистої безпеки. Дані фактори призводять до небажання працівників готелю працювати, зниження ефективності їх праці, виникнення стресу на робочому місці незалежно від того, пов’язаний даний ризик з роботою чи він носить виключно сімейний або інший характер. За результатами дослідження зроблено висновок про те, що розуміння керівництвом готелю потреб власних співробітників, усвідомлення факту виникнення у них почуття невпевненості можливі лише за умови наявності у менеджерів підвищеного рівня співчуття та емпатії. І навпаки, менеджери повинні формувати у колективу почуття співпереживання до потреб своїх колег та клієнтів. Таким чином, лідери повинні виступати гарантами безпеки персоналу та бути джерелом його натхнення.
