Однією із проблем, що багато років досліджується науковцями та привертає увагу урядовців з усього світу є ухилення від сплати податків. Основна мета дослідження полягає у визначенні відношення громадян і платників податків Албанії до ухилення від сплати податків та дотримання законодавства. Систематизація літературних джерел з питань податкової політики дозволила виділити кілька напрямків досліджень щодо оцінювання рівня сприйняття громадськістю демографічних факторів, що впливають на ухилення від сплати податків. Особливо актуальними дані питання є для багатьох розвинених країн та тих, що розвиваються, у тому числі і для Албанії. Ухилення від сплати податків знижує здатність уряду до неупередженого та економічно ефективного збирання податкових надходжень, створює нерівність між громадянами – платниками податків та викликає економічні труднощі для країни. Внаслідок ухилення від сплати податків відбувається зменшення обсягів доходів бюджету, що в кінцевому випадку призводить до неможливості держави надавати такі суспільні послуги як охорона здоров’я, транспорт та правосуддя в обсягах, що відповідали б потребам та правам платників податків. У той же час, ґрунтовні дослідження факторів, що впливають на обсяги ухилення від сплати податків в Албанії все ще відсутні. Методологічним інструментарієм дослідження є метод анкетування, точний тест Фішера для матриць підрахунку з використанням статистичного програмного забезпечення R studio та JMP. Об’єктом дослідження обрано 387 платників податків в Албанії. За допомогою емпіричного аналізу було виявлено взаємозв’язок між соціально-демографічними факторами розвитку країни та їх впливом на рівень ставлення населення до ухилення від сплати податків. На основі емпіричних розрахунків було зроблено висновок про те, що стать, сімейний стан, рівень освіти та місце проживання платника податку впливають на рівень дотримання ним податкового законодавства та етику його поведінки. Отримані результати підтвердили наявність статистично значущого зв’язку між статусом в зайнятості населення та його відношенням до дотримання податкового законодавства, в той же час як статистично значущої залежності між віком платника та його схильністю до ухилення від сплати податків виявлено не було. Результати дослідження можуть бути корисними для дослідників, політиків і практиків, що займаються питаннями формування та реалізації податкової політики країни.
