У даній статті сконцентрована увага на дослідженні причин та наслідків агресивної поведінки дітей, дорослого населення, а також офіційних працівників поліції. Актуальність вирішення даної наукової проблеми обумовлена значною кількістю самогубств по всьому світу загалом, та від 30 000 до 40 000 осіб на рік в США зокрема. У статті обґрунтовано необхідність розробки удосконалених стратегій подолання проявів насильства, оскільки бездіяльність у даному напрямку спричиняє посилення соціальних протистоянь і напруги в країні, а також загострення проблеми бідності. Метою статті є дослідження взаємозв’язку між кількістю самогубств, зброї у населення та випадків масового розстрілу. Аналіз літературних джерел з даної проблематики протягом останнього десятиліття засвідчив, що окремі акти насильства та самогубства пояснюються хворобами або проблемами психічного здоров’я, але більшість з них викликані умисними діями третіх осіб через непорозуміння, стереотипи та агресивну поведінку. Методичним інструментарієм проведеного дослідження стали методи статистичної обробки даних та регресійний аналіз, періодом дослідження обрано роки з 2000 по 2013 рр. Дане дослідження проведене на основі використання даних 3238 зареєстрованих самогубств в окрузі Брауард, штат Південна Флорида. Встановлено, що найпоширенішими способами самогубств є використання вогнепальної зброї, странгуляційної асфіксії та повішення. Емпірично доведено, що чоловіки у три рази частіше скоюють самогубство порівняно з жінками. Крім цього, вівторок та середа є найпоширенішими днями для здійснення самогубств у даному окрузі. Результати проведеного дослідження можуть бути корисними для органів державної та місцевої влади, політиків, дослідників у контексті розробки заходів для запобігання самогубств та масових розстрілів у майбутньому.
